TESTIMONIALS

"At BC&F, we are in the business of precision manufacturing, or more specifically, small diameter gundrilling. As processes become more innovative, the margin for error becomes smaller and the manufacturing requirements become more of a challenge to meet. It is imperative that we have in our possession the best inspection equipment that the industry has to offer to ensure we are making high quality parts for our customers. Introducing the Visioner I into our process enables us to make sure we are doing exactly that. With some cannulations being smaller than 1mm, we now can make sure every facet of the gundrills we produce are up to spec. This allows us to make a more accurate drill at a far greater rate than ever before. The Visioner I offers a variety of “click and point” tools that help us measure the many subtle features employed in a single point tool.

Before, it was impossible to measure the distance between the coolant hole and cutting edge, but we can now check this at a moment's notice. Oil relief on the backside of a drill may register less than .001” but we can now check this critical dimension where before that would have been impossible. Inspecting carbide and stainless steel is of no concern due to the corrective lighting that takes away any unwanted glare. The depth of focus has been a wonderful asset that we see the benefit of everyday. The topography function allows us to better communicate where our carbide suppliers are coming up short in the production of our blanks. The Visioner I, for BC&F Tool represents a critical piece of equipment that was necessary for us to continue to meet our goals both short term and long. We are excited to continue to learn about its abilities and find different ways it can be utilized as I’m sure we have not even scratched the surface of its potential."

"When we decided to replace our old vision system at the end of 2020, we knew it was time to upgrade to a CMM. After reviewing several different systems, we decided that Zeiss was the brand we liked best. Midwest Metrology is our local dealer, so we purchased our Zeiss Contura through them. They have been fantastic to work with. Megan did a great job of coordinating delivery and installation between H & L Advantage and Zeiss. The whole Midwest Metrology team is friendly and knowledgeable. They are quick to direct you to someone who can help if they don’t have the answer. Highly recommended!”
